Plantation City Councilman Tim Fadgen announced today that he is running for Mayor of Plantation. A lifelong resident, Fadgen has called Plantation home for 46 years and credits the city he grew up in with shaping the values he brings to public service.

"I loved growing up in Plantation so much that I chose to build my life and career here," said Fadgen. "I never left."

​

Fadgen is currently serving his second term on the Plantation City Council, during which he has served as Mayor, Council President, President Pro-Tem, City Treasurer, Trustee on the General Employee Pension Plan, City representative on Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Executive Committee Member of Broward MPO, and Vice Chair of the Metro Transportation Engineering Construction Cooperative (MTECC).

Public service runs deep in Fadgen's family; he is a third‑generation Certified Public Accountant, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, John F. Fadgen, and his father, former longtime City Councilmember Jerry Fadgen. Fadgen's accounting practice is also located in Plantation.

​

Fadgen, true to his professional background as a CPA, is known for being a financial watchdog. He plans to bring the same disciplined financial oversight to the Mayor's office that he has consistently demonstrated from the Council dais.

Fadgen is also a strong supporter of first responders.

"Our city's safety is always a top priority," said Fadgen. "I am proud that at every opportunity I have supported our Police Department, Paramedics, and Volunteer Fire Fighters from the dais. As Mayor, I will continue to prioritize strong public safety to keep our community safe."

​

His administration will prioritize fiscal responsibility, transparency, and responsible stewardship of the City's assets and resources. Transparency, he emphasized, must be demonstrated through action, not just words.

​

"Plantation has been my home for nearly my entire life," Fadgen said. "I'm running for Mayor to continue serving this city with integrity, common sense, and a deep respect for the residents who make it such a special place."
