Tim Fadgen: Respected Leader, Experience You Trust, Focused on Plantation

Tim Fadgen has proudly called Plantation home for 46 years. This is the city where he was raised, educated, and built his life.

Tim attended Tropical Elementary, Seminole Middle School, and South Plantation High School, where he was active in PAL athletics and played trumpet in the school band. He earned his Eagle Scout award with Troop 175 at Plantation Community Church — an experience that helped shape a lifelong commitment to service.

From growing up in Royal Palm Estates to renting his first apartment at Los Prados to buying his first home in Bridgewater, Tim has remained deeply invested in Plantation at every stage of his life because he believes in its people, its values, and its future.

Professionally, Tim is a third-generation Certified Public Accountant, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, John F. Fadgen, and his father, former Plantation City Councilmember Jerry Fadgen. He earned his accounting degree from Florida Atlantic University and began his career with RSM (formerly McGladrey & Pullen, LLP), one of the nation's largest accounting firms, where he worked with family-owned businesses and government entities.

Seventeen years ago, Tim started his own accounting practice from the ground up. What began with zero clients has grown into a successful firm with five employees, serving individuals and small businesses throughout the community. After his father's passing in 2018, Tim merged his father's practice with his own, continuing the business at the same location on East Acre Drive where Jerry Fadgen first opened his office in 1988.

That professional journey has shaped Tim's deep respect for financial responsibility, transparency, and practical problem-solving — principles he is committed to bringing to the leadership of Plantation.

Tim has served on the City Council since 2020, being re-elected in 2024. On the Council, he has served as Mayor, when the current mayor took a leave of absence, Council President, President Pro-Tem, City Treasurer, Trustee on the General Employee Pension Plan, City Representative on the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and Vice Chair of the Metro Transportation Engineering Construction Cooperative (MTECC). Tim has served with a priority on fiscal responsibility, transparency, and responsible stewardship of the City's assets and resources.

Tim is running for Mayor because he cares deeply about Plantation's future. He wants to ensure the city remains a place where families thrive, businesses succeed, and every resident feels heard and represented. His roots here run deep, and his commitment to Plantation is unwavering.

"Plantation has been my home for nearly my entire life," says Fadgen. "I'm running for Mayor to continue serving this city with integrity, common sense, and a deep respect for the residents who make it such a special place."

Guided by Integrity and Service

Tim believes that leadership is built on transparency and a deep commitment to the well-being of every resident in Plantation.

Fiscal Responsibility

As a Certified Public Accountant, Tim will use his professional  expertise to safeguard and protect the city's assets through responsible budgeting and transparent spending - ensuring Plantation remains a thriving, sustainable community for generations to come.

Transparency

Tim believes in open, accountable government.  Transparency must be demonstrated through action — not just words.  Every decision is made with the public interest first, and every process is conducted with clarity and integrity.

Community Engagement

Tim is committed to keeping the public informed and connected.  City digital media will be used to highlight community initiatives and city services - not for the self-promotion of elected politicians.
